Group Active Birth Workshop for the Conscious Mother

$160.00

Your labour and birth experience will stay with you forever and I believe it should be one of the most memorable days of your life, however it unfolds. This workshop will arm you and your birth partner with evidence-based knowledge and skills to guide you through together.

You are here because:

  • You wish to work with a midwife in a face-to-face setting rather than online

  • You are looking to gain the tools and confidence needed for your labour and birth

  • Your partner is looking for practical knowledge and tools on how to support you

  • You want to know your options including pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management in labour

  • You want to have an active birth on your terms

  • You need an in-depth one-stop course or a refresher for your second or subsequent labour/birth.

Topics covered:

  • Preparing for birth: releasing fears, connecting with your baby, considering your birth preferences

  • Hormones of labour: how to optimise the physiological process of labour

  • Active birth tools: visualisation, massage, acupressure, rebozo and your support person's role

  • The golden hour (the first hour after birth): birthing your placenta, skin to skin and the first feed

The ideal time to attend this workshop is between 26-34 weeks gestation so the information is fresh in your mind. Classes consist of a small group of up to four like-minded couples. This space welcomes people of any gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation or family structure.

Price is per couple (you and your birth support person eg. partner, mother, friend).

Time:
8.30am-12.30pm with a delicious morning tea provided

Location:
Maylands, WA (venue to be announced by email closer to workshop date)

What to Bring:
Please bring an exercise/gym ball to the class. You can purchase one at Kmart and you will make good use of it in pregnancy and labour. An electric pump will be available if needed. Please bring your own water bottle.
